Southeast Regional Project Director, Corporate Workplace
2012–2015

Led design, construction, and renovation of all office buildings, branches, and ATMs across 14 states throughout the southeast. Entailed leading a team of 100+ bank and supplier project management staff that executed over 2,000 new construction and renovation projects annually, totaling over $275MM in capital spend.

  • Played integral leadership role in transition of project management from a line of business program-centric organization to a regional/geographical model to drive greater efficiency and nationwide consistency
  • Led country in exceeding all key Project Management (PjM) performance metrics, including 97% on-time/on-budget, 99% closeout accuracy, and 97% ADA project completions.

Retail Program Management Executive, Corporate Workplace
2010–2012

Led design, construction, and project management of all retail branches across the US. Oversaw over 4,000 retail projects per year exceeding $360MM in annual capital spend, inclusive of ground-up construction, ATMs, renovations, ADA, security lighting, and signage projects.

  • Built team that was highly regarded by clients and competitors as the leading retail PjM team in the country
  • Initiated a War on Cost that resulted in a 10.2% drop in construction costs of new banking centers and ATMs in 9 months’ time

Development Executive, Corporate Workplace
2006–2009

Served as Program Executive accountable for end-to-end design, construction, and delivery of a new ground-up development comprising bank-owned 30-story 1 BAC office tower, 18-story Ritz-Carlton, and a renovated Founders Hall. Total budget for these self-managed projects exceeded $800MM. Responsible for core and shell structure and interior upfit, bringing project in on time and $37MM under budget. Served as primary interface with key BAC stakeholder executives throughout Corporate Workplace, Technology, Human Resources, Finance, Legal, Security, Risk Management, Corporate Communications, Media Relations, and Brand.

  • Developed Vision, Mission, Core Values, and Measurements for Success that guided bank personnel, two major contractors, three architects, two developers, and hundreds of subcontractors to achieve stellar results on a very complex project in a truly professional manner
  • Exceeded expectations on all key project metrics, including budget, schedule, safety, and minority spending on one of the fastest-paced, highest-profile, most capital-intensive projects in company history
  • Achieved record-high stakeholder satisfaction ratings with 92% of stakeholders “delighted” with results
  • Recognized by Chamber of Commerce as the “Most Admired Real Estate Development Team in the History of Charlotte”
  • Developed numerous best practices for project governance, communication, and fiscal management controls that were later replicated on other self-managed bank initiatives

Corporate Workplace Executive, Corporate Workplace
2004–2006: Charlotte

Supported the worldwide real estate needs of the bank’s chief technology executive who oversaw the company’s Global Technology, Service and Fulfillment group. Total portfolio encompassed 20MM square feet of space, $600MM in annual occupancy expense and 60,000+ associates

  • Served on various Line of Business (LoB) Executive Leadership teams, collaborating with Human Resources, Finance, and Q&P executives to develop workplace solutions that positioned GTS&F’s office space as a competitive advantage in their business
  • Developed first LoB-centric Workplace Hoshin Plan aligning workplace strategies and resources with specific LoB objectives, demonstrating the strong value proposition of Corporate Workplace engagement
  • Led development and execution of a workplace optimization strategy for the LoB, resulting in reduced costs, increased associate satisfaction, improved risk mitigation, and increased concentration of associates in more optimum labor markets


Relationship Manager, Corporate Workplace
1998–2004: Charlotte

  • Oversaw the real estate needs of various LoBs, including Human Resources, Corporate Risk Management, Finance, and various Technology and Merger Transition groups

Charlotte Headquarters Portfolio Director, Corporate Real Estate
1995–1998: Charlotte

  • Oversaw the strategic planning, design, construction, move management, and property management of 4.5MM square feet of bank-owned/leased office space in Center City Charlotte
  • Overhauled team of project/portfolio managers to design, program, and upfit bank space in new developments such as Transamerica Square, 525 N. Tryon, 201 N. Tryon, and Gateway Village
  • Led team to dramatic improvements in client satisfaction (65% to 98%), while enhancing fiscal management controls

 

Supply Chain Manager, Corporate Procurement
1994–1995: Charlotte

  • Managed a team of senior contract negotiators responsible for negotiation/execution of multimillion-dollar national contracts for Corporate Real Estate, Finance, and Personnel

Retail Loan Services Manager, Consumer Bank Operations
1990–1994: Greensboro

  • Managed a staff of 100–120 associates with responsibility for processing and servicing of NationsBank’s $10B East Coast consumer loan/dealer floorplan portfolios

Treasury Services Manager, Corporate Bank Operations
1989–1990: Charlotte

  • Managed a team of 60–65 associates with responsibility for the company’s Controlled Disbursing, Account Reconciliation, and ACH Operations units
  • Overhauled an Account Reconciliation staff that had a 12–15 month backlog of corporate reconciliations, poor client relations, and a staff plagued by mediocrity. Turned the group around in less than one year, receiving rave reviews from Treasury Management execs and clients


International Funds Transfer Manager, International Operations

  • Managed a team of 20–25 associates responsible for International Funds Transfer Operations, International Communications, Application Development, & Systems Support.
